“Fidelity Life partnered with Kambium to deliver in-depth training to our people to help them get more from Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
Kambium have been incredibly responsive to our changing needs. They were able to quickly update training guides as our processes and systems evolved, and swiftly adapted to delivering training online as we moved back into lockdown.
Caitlin Boorman did an amazing job facilitating 14 online workshops via Teams. Feedback from these 3-hour long workshops was overwhelmingly positive, with our people coming away with a wide range of new skills and knowledge, as well increased confidence in the use of these applications. This has resulted in a noticeable lift in communication and engagement – especially while working remotely – as well as greater efficiencies from more online file sharing and collaboration.
If you’re looking for high quality, effective training on the Microsoft suite of products, we’d highly recommend Kambium.”
COVID19 and Impacts of Immediate Shift to Remote Working
Fidelity Life is a purpose-driven company that provides specialist life insurance for individuals, businesses and employers. Since 1973, Fidelity Life has grown to approximately 250 employees. The COVID19 lockdowns saw the organisation thrown into remote working and adopting Office 365. Due to the sudden change of working from home, most staff were self-taught on Microsoft Teams and OneDrive with varying proficiency levels. Fidelity Life wanted to provide formal training to support their employees as well as drive user adoption beyond the basic features.
Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint Training
The training was customised to Fidelity’s needs and focused on general Teams training and information management (SharePoint and OneDrive), specifically around file sharing and co-authoring. For approximately 250 employees, a total of 14 3-hour training sessions were delivered remotely across varying departments and skill requirements, including administrators. Training resources were provided as a blended learning approach to assist with training and promote user adoption. Resources included Quick Reference Guides and detailed User Guides.
“Feedback from these 3-hour long workshops was overwhelmingly positive, with our people coming away with a wide range of new skills and knowledge, as well increased confidence in the use of these applications.”
Fidelity Life has a wider plan to utilise more applications within Office 365. Each training session concluded with a brief introduction to select Office 365 productivity applications to highlight what’s available, promote additional day-to-day productivity and achieve further O365 buy-in. The applications included OneNote, Whiteboard, Lists and Forms.
Improved Employee Experience and Adoption
The feedback from staff was positive stating they felt more confident using the Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint and particularly enjoyed learning about features they weren’t aware or didn’t know how to use. In addition, staff appreciated the insight to the various productivity apps to support their day-to-day tasks. The result was an increase in proficiency, user adoption and buy-in proving that Office 365 will be an on-going success and provide value to Fidelity Life.
